REFLECTIONS FROM COLLECTORS

Your Buddha paintings touch me, Virginia. There is magic around them. Not easy for me to describe, but maybe I could say, they seem as if they had ‘a soul’, in a way they seem so human and at the same time so holy and spiritual, in one way so transcendent, but also so alive… thank you very much for creating and posting them! FROM THE ARTIST

I think the most unusual thing I do is having the courage to “not know” what I’m doing, or where I’m going when I begin a painting.

I trust that the swipes of paint and washes of color will inspire my imagination and the painting will show me what is there— just waiting to be discovered.

ORIGINAL BUDDHA PAINTINGS

Golden Buddha face with teal
Blue Buddha with dot on third eye

I begin each piece with intuitive marks and washes of color — allowing the painting to emerge without forcing it into form. This playful, trust-filled process gives the work its layered depth and unexpected beauty.

We have one of Viriginia’s paintings gracing our home and it’s one of the few things I would carry out if our house ever caught fire. –JM Lexington, MA

SKETCHBOOK JOURNALS

I have been a professional artsit for most of my life. Aside from the spiritual Buddha paintings, I also paint wild sketchbook journals that run the gamut from dark, or mysterious, to playful and weird and everything in-between.
